Instant Pot Buttery Basmati Rice

- 1 cup basmati rice or long-grain white rice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ diced white onion
- 1 diced garlic clove
- 1 ½ cups water (see notes)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon salted butter
Instructions

Turn on the sauté option on your Instant Pot. Add in one tablespoon of olive oil.

When hot, add in the diced onion and diced garlic. Stir frequently until soft and fragrant, being careful that they don’t burn.

Turn the sauté option off. Rinse and drain one cup of basmati rice using a strainer. Add the rice to the Instant Pot as well as the water.
